Andy will reflect on his past involvement with non-violent direct action movements, his role in the campaign to close down Huntingdon Life Sciences, as well as his current with Sparrow work as a grassroots activism PR consultant.

Join us on Tuesday, April 26 at NYU’s Kimmel Center, Room 803 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM

Terrorizing Dissent Event at Georgetown University

Will Potter & Andy Stepanian will be speaking at Georgetown University Law Center on Friday 4/7/2011 - http://on.fb.me/elwzNO

Will Potter is an award winning journalist focusing on government repression of animal rights and environmental activists. He will be speaking about his new book, Green is the New Red

Andy Stepanian is a social justice activist from Long Island. In 2006, he was sentenced to 3 years in prison for
his role in the Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty campaign. The last 6 months of his sentence were in a secretive high security prison called The Communication Management Unit, known by some federal officials as “Little Gitmo”. The SHAC7 case was recently denied certiorari by the Supreme Court, but still remains a hotly
contested first amendment issue.
